Blog 8: How green are you?

To be honest, I’m not really a “green” person. I’ve never been into that sort of activity where you do something for the environment, BUT that doesn’t mean I don’t care about it. I think that taking care of our planet is very important, after all it’s the only home we have. So, to make it up for it, I try to walk every now and then instead of using a car, but I usually take a bus or the subway because I live outside Santiago, so whenever I need to do something I takes me a lot of time to get where I need to.In the summer, I would like to try to do something useful, maybe start recycling at home, talk with my family and make them do the same.We all know that Santiago has some serious pollution issues, which affects not only people but animals as well. I think there are some necessary measures that help reduce pollution, but they’re not enough. There should be more green areas, and not only in the wealthiest areas of Santiago, but everywhere. Usually, in other not-to-so-wealthy places you’ll find huge amounts of garbage put together in a corner, with no one there to clean it up. So I think that Santiago should take care of these kinds of issues, and keep a cleaner city, it would make it a better place to live in.
